Today, an exhaust is part of a very sophisticated emission control system. There are some very high tech parts connected to the humble exhaust. We call it an Air2Air approach. We look at the air intake through the filter to the air output from the tailpipe. On route the emissions could touch on the air mass meter, the catalytic converter, EGR valves, lambda sensors, or diesel particulate filters, to name but a few. At Port Tyres we are able to supply and fit a wide range of exhausts to cover most makes and models of car and we can provide anything from a single part to a full system. . Made from mild steel, our exhausts are fully aluminised, and come with a two year, no quibble warranty from the day we fit it. If you want a stainless steel exhaust we can offer you Peco, Scorpion, Larini, Magnaflow, Magnex. If you don’t see it here, just ask and we will do our best to find it for you.
Catalytic converters are our speciality. If your cat fails we need to find out the cause and make sure that gets repaired first.
We can provide anything from a gasket, to a full performance system, to the emission control sensors. To enquire about your vehicle, please contact our workshop with your vehicle details, where a member of staff will be more than happy to help.
Cheap exhausts cost you more, in the long run
Here’s a comment about fitting quality parts from the UK’s biggest exhaust manufacturer, Paul Hannah at Klarius “If you were to fit a non Type Approved [exhaust] system to an average saloon, such as a 2 litre Ford Mondeo, then a reduction of just two mpg from the official figure of 36 mpg would increase the annual fuel bill of a driver covering 20,000 miles each year by nearly £200. So, remember to add this to the cost of the cheap exhaust you have just bought.”
